Every artwork is part of a larger conversation.

Long before a work is exhibited, it begins with a thought, a question, or a quiet moment of reflection. Each artwork carries traces of an artist's creative journey, shaped by time, experience, and ways of seeing the world.

u1 Gallery was founded on a simple belief: that every artwork exists within a broader conversation—between artists, audiences, ideas, and time.

Established in October 2022, during a time when many people found it difficult to experience art in person, u1 Gallery began as a virtual space where artists and audiences could continue to connect beyond the boundaries of time and place. What started as a response to a particular moment has since grown into an international platform where artists and audiences from around the world meet through exhibitions, conversations, and shared experiences.

We are deeply grateful to every artist who has entrusted us with their work and their words. Their generosity has made it possible to create encounters that extend beyond viewing an artwork alone, opening space for reflection, dialogue, and new perspectives. Through these exchanges, we have been continually reminded of art's unique ability to connect people across cultures, languages, and lived experiences.

To us, art is not simply something to be observed. It is a way of asking questions, expressing emotions, preserving experiences, and engaging with the world. Every encounter with a work is shaped not only by the artist who created it, but also by the person who stands before it. Each viewer brings their own memories, experiences, and perspectives, allowing every work to remain open to new interpretations.

This belief shapes everything we do at u1 Gallery. Alongside exhibitions and art news, we publish conversations with artists from around the world, exploring the thoughts, questions, and creative processes that accompany their practice. Rather than defining the meaning of an artwork, these conversations become part of the wider dialogue that surrounds it. They preserve one perspective without limiting the many others that each viewer may bring.
